Heidi (Hyds)

Meet Hyds the Owner of CrossFit Tempered Ormeau, a dedicated and experienced emergency responder with over 20 years of service in her community.

Meet Hyds the Owner of CrossFit Tempered Ormeau, a dedicated and experienced emergency responder with over 20 years of service in her community. Hyds passion for helping people extends beyond her work as a first responder and into her role as the owner of Tempered. Hyds discovered CrossFit early on in her career and was immediately drawn to its focus on functional movements and high intensity workouts. She quickly became a part of the CrossFit community and found that it offered a supportive and inclusive environment where people of all ages and fitness levels could come together to improve their health and fitness.
Hyds is not only a CrossFit Certified Level 2 Trainer (CF-L2) but also holds a Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness, Powerlifting Coach, Strength/conditioning coach and Graduate Certificate in Health (Nutrition). She is also an accomplished athlete herself, having represented Australia on the international stage for Powerlifting and claiming several national records. Hyds has coached CrossFit and strength and conditioning programs since 2012. She is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and passion for health and fitness to anyone interested in living a healthier, happier life. Hyds through CrossFit Tempered is committed to making CrossFit accessible to everyone, building a strong community by uniting and welcoming people of all ages and abilities. Hyds is grateful for the opportunity to combine her passions for fitness and helping others as the owner of CrossFit Tempered Ormeau, and looks forward to continuing to grow and evolve her business in the years to come.

Mitch

Mitch is one of our head coaches here at CFT Tempered Ormeau

Mitch is one of our head coaches here at CFT Tempered Ormeau. Holding a Cert III, IV and Crossfit level 1. Mitch comes from a very athletic background. Finding passion for exercise after finishing up his rugby league endeavours. Mitch has represented SEQ & QLD in rugby league, winning multiple premierships with his team the Carina Tigers. Mitch has also had the pleasure of being coached by some very experienced coaches like Queensland legend Mal Meninga. Since then, Mitch has developed an obsession with technique, how it changes from person to person, and strives to find what works for YOU using the crossfit methodology.

Grant

Grant comes from a very active and sports focused background. He played Rugby league at State Level and has a very active lifestyle.

Grant comes from a very active and sports focused background. He played Rugby league at State Level and has a very active lifestyle. His passion for fitness and wanting to help others lead him to Studying a Diploma Exercise Science and Fitness management.
He is a very outgoing, enthusiastic, open minded person who found his passion for crossfit in 2013, and is always looking to grow and expand his knowledge.
As a father of 4 very active children he understands the importance of health, fitness and work balance in the individual and family.
Although usually the funny guy there is a serious side and he finds great joy in helping others succeed and get the best out of themselves.

Lauren

Lauren (Loz) is one of our newer coaches, however has been a qualified Personal Trainer since 2012, holding a Cert III and IV in Fitness.

Lauren (Loz) is one of our newer coaches, however has been a qualified Personal Trainer since 2012, holding a Cert III and IV in Fitness. Loz comes from a long sporting background. Finding her passion for CrossFit after retiring from a long Gridiron (American Football) career for which she is a multi state and National champion Quarterback, who also represented Australia in the 2017 Women’s World Championship.
The highly specialised technique involved in playing Quarterback has transferred across to CrossFit with Lauren’s appreciation for technically sound movements while harnessing the body’s ability to create explosive power demonstrated through her coaching style.

Jessica (Jess)

Jess is a passionate and driven Coach with a strong focus on developing youth athletes.

Jess is a passionate and driven Coach with a strong focus on developing youth athletes. As a mum of two active boys herself she understands the physical and emotional needs of young athletes and is dedicated to helping youth athletes achieve their full potential. As a CrossFit Certified Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) Jess drives CrossFit Tempereds Youth platform, with a strong emphasis on technique, she works closely with each athlete to ensure that they are performing exercises safely and effectively. Jess is also known for her ability to create a fun and supportive environment that motivates and inspires young athletes. Jess is a true advocate of the sport of CrossFit and is committed to promoting its benefits to athletes of all ages and skill levels.
